Risk Assessment

- Camera person (Marwa) will be climbing the tree for high angle shot/ birds eye
view. This is dangerous because she might injure herself and break her camera.
To prevent this she'll wear her camera with a strap close to her to keep the
camera safe. Secondly the team will be by the tree for safety precautions to catch
her in case she falls. Also we will test the shoot first to check if itll work.
- Actor of Lucas (Berts) will be riding his bike, so we have to make sure the
locations are suitable for riding a bike and filming because the road might be too
busy or the ground might be bumpy therefore making it dangerous and injuries
may occur. As the actor will be riding on a public road we have to make sure he is
comfortable working along side with cars and being filmed so we will have to
test the shots to build confidence and prevent accidents.
- When filming near the roads, we have to be careful that we're not in anyone's
way or near to the driving cars since accidents could occur. Especially for the
POV shot, we have to make sure the camera is secure onto the strap being used
to place the camera on the actor. To prevent the camera breaking.
- When backtracking we will have to make sure the tracks are on a carpet on a
private road (pretending it is a public road) but some problems may occur like
breaking the equipment. To prevent this we will have to practice using the tracks
in school to build confidence when using it. Also test if it will work to record a
bike riding.
- We might interrupt or disrupt strangers who may not be comfortable with
what we're doing. There may be a chance of getting into conflict with them e.g.
Pharmacy scene, having to film Lucas walking in and out of the pharmacy. We
will have to let the people be aware of what we are doing. Therefore to prevent
this, before any filming is done if anyone is present and is uncomfortable with
what were ding we will explain to them. Also make sure the Pharmacy has
signed the location form so we have permission.
- The weather might be a problem, for instance if it is raining then we can not
shoot. So we will have to check the weather before the shoot (about a week
before)
- one of the props that will be used are drugs (medication), safety precautions
will have to be taken as the drugs are out of date and if consumed will cause a
allergic/ health reaction or too much consummation may lead to over dose
and/or addiction.
