Principles of Fundraising
o Lead a group of motivated students through a service learning experience with
WAMY Communities in Action
o Planned and implemented a Winter Gala fundraising event.
o Attained one on one sales skills by soliciting gift items for a silent auction.

Nonprofit Management
o Developed and implemented a fundraiser in collaboration with Greening My
Plate Week through a service learning experience with High Country Local First.
o Raised awareness about supporting the local economy and the local foods
movement by sourcing four hand crafted pottery plates made by a local potter.
o Sold raffle tickets for these prizes at four different community events to raise
funds.

Media Publishing and Media Graphics

o Gained experience and knowledge working with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop,
and Illustrator.
o Created company logos, book covers, brochures, and posters.

Public Speaking
o Studied Aristotles theory of ethos, pathos, and logos.
o Gained experiencing in the art of public speaking.

Argumentation and Advocacy

o Learned how to formulate logical arguments based on the Toulmin model.
o Participated in class debates.

Persuasion
o Was exposed to persuasive techniques and practices.
o Developed a semester long persuasive campaign.

Organizational Communication
o Was taught the theories that inspire how organizations are run and managed.
o Created an hour long presentation training employees of an organization to be
better leaders.
