Dear Ms. Elisa Briones,
I am writing in interest of obtaining the current actuarial intern position your company is
hiring. As an ambitious student athlete I believe I am deserving recipient because of my
impressive work ethic, leadership ability, and willingness to learn.
I am currently studying Applied Mathematics Actuarial Science at Ferris State
University. Throughout my career here at Ferris State both I have constantly worked to improve
both mentally and physically by maintaining a vigorous schedule. My ability to be a successful
student athlete displays the work ethic required to flourish within your company. Competiveness
has also been a big part of my personality, which has drove me to success. Approaching day to
day tasks at your company will be no different. I will approach this internship with the same
ambition and resilience that I approach my academics and athletics with.
I have successfully worked in groups as both a leader and a participant. There are many
dynamics of a group and through assessing the strengths and weaknesses; the ability to take on
any role necessary is critical within an organization and I have this ability. I have been a part of
groups here at Ferris State both in the classroom and on the field. As a football team this year we
were conference champs, and the other group Im apart is the Math club where we come up with
solutions to complex problems. All of my efforts and activities are helping to prepare me for a
career in the insurance industry.
I have all of the qualifications that your company requires with a strong background in
Mathematics in the disciplines of Calculus, Statistics, and Probability. I also have experience in
the insurance industry. Last summer I worked my fathers insurance agency as a customer
service representative. I am very excited to see how these two areas of study intertwine, as I
pursue my career as an actuary, and I think Auto Owners would be a great place to start this
journey.
I will be a great intern for Auto Owners if given the opportunity. There is no doubt in my
mind that I will become successful in your company. Thank you for your time
Sincerely,

Corey Arnouts
