1) Do Rocket Math practice and one minute timed test

2) Put last two properties on a white board- ask if this is equalask if the equal sign makes sense there- talk about how it is
basically just a balance so if both sides are equal the equal
sign makes sense
3) Talk about distributing numbers when in parenthesis, and
associative property where the parenthesis can be around
any numbers and the answer is still the same- talk about the
difference between the two- addition in distributing and
multiplication in associative

then number sentence
2) Review what patterns are- things that have to repeat
3) Make a three item pattern and talk about which part is
repeating- explain that this is the core of the pattern
4) Tell students that they need to alternate making patterns- if
one partner makes the pattern, the other partner needs to say
what the core of the pattern is and then add on one entire
core
5) Repeat this until time is up

1) Were students able to explain what

a pattern was using the vocab turn
