Boil Water

Instructions
Boil Water

Materials Needed:
1. Pot/ Pan (That is NOT flammable - any size)
2. Fire igniter
3. Unfiltered Water (must fit in the pot/ pan)

Procedure:
Pour water into pot/pan. Ignite fire, and cautiously
place pan containing the water on the fire. Continue
heating the water until bubbles or steam is seen. When
bubbles or steam is seen remove pot from fire.
THIS METHODS PURPOSE IS TO KILL GERMS OR
CHEMICALS, IF DIRT IS SEEN, THE CLOTH FILTER IS
RECOMMENDED ATER THE PROCEDURE ABOVE.

Cloth Filter

Materials Needed:
1. 1 Cup (at least 12 oz.)
2. 1 Piece of Cloth (larger than mouth of cup) Given In
Starter Kit
3. Container that can hold water
4. Unfiltered Water

Procedure:
Fill water into container. Secure piece of cloth on the
top of the cup (with no water in it). Slowly pour water onto
the piece of cloth, letting it drain into the cup. Once all of
the water is poured remove cloth.

IS CHEMICALS OR GERMS, BOILING THE WATER OR USING

UV LIGHT IS RECOMMENDED AFTER THE PROCEDURE

Zap It! (UV Light)

Materials Needed:
1. 1 UV light- Given In Starter Kit
2. 1 Container (can hold water)
3. Unfiltered Water (enough to fit in the container)

Procedure:
This method requires the cloth filter or the water slide
before proceeding
First, fill the container with the water filtered from the
cloth. Then using the UV light place it in the water and turn
it on. This will zap the water killing the germs in the
water.

Bowl Method

Materials Needed:
1. 1 Bowl (size depends on amount of water being put in)
2. 1 Cup (about same height as bowl)
3. Clear wrap (approximately 1 foot wider and longer than
bowl) - Given In Starter Kit
4. 1 Rock (1-2 lb.)
5. Unfiltered water (enough to fill half of bowl)

Procedure:
Set cup flat, face-up inside the bowl. Put it in the
middle. Carefully pour water into bowl, without getting any
into the cup. Cover the bowl with the clear wrap around
entire bowl, with no air holes. Set rock on top of the clear
wrap where the cup is. Lastly set the product outside in
Bowl Method (evaporation)
sunlight, for at least 24hrs. This will give it enough time to 8
evaporate and let all the clean water fill into the cup.

Water Slide
(Water Filtration)

Materials Needed:
1. 2, 16 Oz. plastic water bottles or cups (container)
2. About 2 handfuls of gravel, sand, and charcoal
3. Less than 16 Oz. of unfiltered water
4. 1 straw or pipe

Procedure:
Poke a inch diameter hole in the bottom of one of
the containers. Next slowly pour the gravel into the
container, then pour in the charcoal, and lastly pour the
sand in. That should fill about of the container. Now,

the opening of that container to the hole that was poked
in the other water bottle with the straw or pipe. Last but
not least, if you pour the water into the bottle with gravel
it will travel down and drip into the empty bottle.
