The Holy Quran was translated and published in Sanskrit titled as Saanskritam Quranam in the year

1984. This monumental task was accomplished by the late Prof. Satya Dev Verma of Yamuna Nagar,
Haryana (India).The publishers of this work are: The Indian Book Gallery, 2691, Baradari, Ballimaran,
Delhi-110006.
Prof. Verma was a prolific thinker, gifted poet and a versatile writer. The Saanskritam Quranam is in
easily understandable Sanskrit verse (Anushtubha Chhanda) and is spread over 344 pages containing
114 chapters. Copies of Saanskritam Quranam were sent to all the prominent Muslim education
institutes in India (including Darul Uloom - Deoband) and the Muslim embassies.
One can find Dr. Verma's 'Sanskritam Quranam' in the prestigious Maulana Azad Library of the Aligarh
Muslim University, Aligarh as well as in Darul Uloom Devband's library.
A large number of prominent Muslim scholars had acclaimed Prof. Verma for this great achievement and
his service to the mankind. In recognition of this unprecedented literary work and his contribution to
Sanskrit language as a whole, Shri Satya Dev Verma was awarded Sahitya Academy awards by the
governments of Haryana, Delhi and Maharashtra states of India.
