Part of a team of systems administrators and network engineers supporting multiple United States Navy
commands.
Majority of the work is for SIPRNet Services but we also support a few smaller unclassified networks
Help to plan and implement migrations from physical workstations to thin client virtual desktops making
sure users have full functionality afterwards to perform their own jobs.
Assist end users with any issues or inquiries in regards to network capabilities, functionality, or changes
they believe could be beneficial to overall productivity.
Finding the best ways to implement new technologies onto the network with the least amount of impact
to the users.
Providing temporary work-around solutions, while still enforcing security policies, when larger issues
occur that take more time and research to resolve.
Maintenance of VMWare ESXi server, updating the virtual desktop images as needed, and resolving any
issues that may arise with users who utilize the thin clients.
Providing account management via Active Directory and e-mail management in Microsoft Outlook 2010
and Exchange
DHCP scope management ensuring that assets that require static IP addresses have reservations and
adding new ones as needed.
Troubleshooting for all hardware, software, or network related issues
Monitoring specific services that each server must have running to serve its purpose.
Maintaining an accurate and detailed inventory of all network assets
Replacement of defective equipment to include, but not limited to, video cards, printers, keyboards, mice,
and monitors.
Ensuring all servers and workstations are up to current standards with patches and security updates
