Well start at the beginning of the poetrypoetry introduction

Collaborative writing activity in SMAGfound poem/blackout poetry
Poetic stereotype comes from Romanticism (tortured and melancholy visionary)
Dr. Seuss (?) could be considered poetry; has rhyme
Found Poem a found poem consists of words found in one text and rearranged in a new text to form a
poem. The idea behind using the found poem for literary analysis is to have readers focus on the
language that they find most significant, meaningful, and important in a literary work they are reading,
extract it, and create a poetic work of their own that distills the meaning that they find in the original.
When produced in small groups, found poems serve as a vehicle for reading carefully and discussing
what language is most critical to representing the meaning that they find in literature (Smag, 40).

I could have Bronx Masquerade as a text during the poetry section (its also all about different
individuals) Could also use Ellen Hopkins works since they are in verse.

- Sonnet
- Haiku
