I have used a similar Panasonic camera before but I learnt a lot


more in the workshop than I had during two years of A level
media and my extra-curricular activities on college.

I now understand that Tascams are really easy to use and how to
efficiently use a shot gun mic.

Workshop aims: Learn correct ways to set up and choose an appropriate location to
conduct an interview.

I understand that simple noises can impact hugely on the quality of


recording, also glare and strong or weak lighting can affect the
quality.
I also understand the etiquette of conducting an interview, for
example to not be afraid to ask them to move but be mindful of what
you say and do all that you can to put the interviewee at ease.

I enjoyed the workshop and it interests me how creative you

I was so confused when I opened the software. But things started to


make sense eventually.

I found the programme TOTALLY confusing and very fiddly.


Although 3 using different screens didnt confuse me at all, which
surprised me. I really need to use it to get to grips with it, it would
be good to have a basic understanding for when I have work
experience. However I will only use it when I have a long deadline,
meaning more time to get the hang of it.

Designing Sound: Tools of the trade (Protools)

I managed to create the sound of a massacre in a busy area.

I would like to experiment with sound a lot more, but I do find it


difficult to get right. I do find pro tools easy to use once I get into
the swing of it.
