What did I do?

What problems did I encounter? What

did I do to solve them?
The reason we auditioned all these people, When filming, we discovered that all
was because we had to find 2 people that
though most of the people we
would fit the role perfectly. We auditioned 4 auditioned chose drama, they had better
boys and 3 girls. The reason we auditioned chemistry off camera, than they did on
more boys than girls is because the role of
camera. With audition number 4, we
the boy was more required, and they had to found that her acting was not suitable
be a better actor than the girl did, as he is
for the role she was playing as she did
the main character of the film, and he had to not connect with the performance so we
make the story believable for the audience
could not chose her to be part of our
to watch, and he also had to set the mood.
film. Audition number 2 was the best
candidate for the role of the boy, as he
connected with the role well, and he
made himself be emotionally connected
with the person who was playing the
part of the girl, who we all collectively
decided that Daynah would suit.

Recce

Health and safety risk

assessment

As a group, we all went to 3 different

locations, which were:
- Shrewsbury park
- Bostall Woods
- Winns common
- Eaglesfeild
We took pictures, and evaluated safety
hazard risks related to these areas.

The recce ties into what we done for our risk

assessment. When analysing the different
locations, on the muddy grass, we slipped
quite a few times, and we also thought about
other possible risks, when bringing out the
equipment. As a group we all constructed
our risk assessment table, and ways to
overcome these.

When doing the recce, we had to make

sure that we evaluated the 4 settings
carefully, and valuated them at a time
where we were hoping to film, this is
because we needed to know what the
locations would look like when they are
at the time we wanted to portray in our
film. Because they are all fields, we
found that when it had rained, the grass
was very muddy, and this is what caused
most of the possible hazards, e.g.
slipping, tripping etc. the final location we
decided to use was Shrewsbury park,
this was because of the features that this
film would add to our film, such as the
arch which would allow us to add a
romantic element to our film.
When we were conducting our risk
assessment, we found that some of the
parks had a higher risk of damage to us
or the equipment, because some areas
had more water damage than others. In
the final decision, we took into
consideration all the elements of risks,
and how to easily overcome these while
filming, and that is why we decided to
choose Shrewsbury park, as it had the
least amount of risks, and the risks it did
have, were easy to overcome.

Focus Group

19/11/2013

As a group, we finalised a release form

which would allow us to confirm that they
legally consent to being on camera.

We had to find examples of a release

form, as we did not know how to write
one, but apart from this, we didnt
encounter any problems.

As a group, we all started to brainstorm

ideas for our script; we started looking at
examples of scripts so we knew exactly what
we had to do in order to make it look
professional.

When we were brainstorming, we all had

different ideas that we wanted for our
film, so we all decided to keep the same
beginning, some of the same elements
for the middle, but at the end, we all had
different plans, this is why we all decided
to write different scripts, and then see
what we wanted to change, or to keep
the same.

As a group, we all had to decide on a

definitive beginning, middle, and end. So
what we all done was write a big paragraph
of what exactly happens in our short film,
then read through it, and section it into 3
parts.

This was particularly hard as we all had

totally different endings, and some
elements of the middle were different. This
is why we all decided to write our own
treatments, and when it came to the bits
that were the same, we would write those
bits together.
We had a bit of trouble explaining the
three different ideas to our audience which
means they got confused, this is where we
decided to stick to one idea, so we got
them to pick which ones they likes and
narrow it down to one big idea.

In the focus group, we all presented our

different ideas, and then with the target
audience there, we had them to ask us
questions, or tell us what they liked and
didnt like. We found this particularly useful,
as we were targeting people with our
specific age range so this would allow us to
make the necessary changes that were
needed for our films.

After we conducted our focus group, we

then decided to hand out questionnaires to
get an even more in depth feedback on our
final film idea, we all made different
questionnaires so we had the best possible
feedback on a range of different questions.
When we took in the questionnaires we
looked through the different answers in
order to make our film more applicable to
the target audience.

We didnt encounter any difficulties with

this part of the production.

As a group, we all wrote up a new film

treatment which allowed us to work as a
group to make sure it was good.

This was easier to do as we already knew

what the audience wanted so all we had to
do was add and take away the necessary
ideas.

When we had all the planning and

paperwork done, all we had to do was start
filming. We all decided which bits each of
us were going to film, which made it easier
for us to get organised.

This bit was difficult because we had to

make sure we were all present during the
filming, which was hard because some of
us werent able to be present during the
filming. so we had to make a timetable of
when we were going to film, and where .
When editing, we found that some scenes
didnt fit the film properly, so we had to put
markers in on final cut pro, and title them
so we were organised and knew exactly
what needed to be added.

As soon as we finished filming , we made

sure that we put it onto a computer so it
was saved, and we didnt have to worry
about something accidentally getting
deleted off the camera, we made backups
of all our shots, so if something did happen,
we would have a spare.
When we had most of the film edited and
planned out, we resumed with filming the
particular scenes that were needed.

do was add the shots into where we had
put the markers, and add treatments, and
just make it look professional.
