Type: Game

Music Jenga
Purpose: To create a fun, no stress environment to help highlight the details and
elements of eras and composers of music.
Steps:
1. Form groups of 4 8.
2. Pour blocks on to table or floor
3. Stack blocks in to a tower.
4. The one who stacked the blocks starts first.
5. Each group member will pull a block from the bottom of the tower and restack them on
the top of tower.
6. When the block is pulled, each person will read the bottom of their block and see what
information that are to give.
7. If the block has an era, you are to give the time of the era and its elements.
8. If the block has a name, you are to give the life dates and era
9. If the block has a song name, you are to give the composer and era
10. If the block has a rhythm, you are to clap or sing the rhythm on a neutral tone.
11. If the black has an interval on it, you are to name the interval.
12. If the block has a chord on it, you are to name the chord.
13. If the block has a note located on a staff, you are to name the note.
14. Each block will have a note value on the top that indicates the point value (extra credit).
15. The person who knocks the tower over loses.
16. The game is to be played as elimination.
17. The last person standing wins in that group.
18. The winners of each group can/will play each other for the ultimate prize.
