A) Whole Group
a. The charts show that many student participated in the lesson. The students in the pre
assessment had no idea what onomatopoeia was, that is why no hands were raised. This
let me know that that was something they had never heard and I needed to go over.
When the other questions were asked, 84% of the class answered the questions
correctly and 16% of the students answered the questions correctly. There was 100%
participation in the pre assessment. In the during assessment 3 students did not
participate, 7 students raised their hand when they recognized onomatopoeia in the
book. 9 students raised their hand for all 36 examples of onomatopoeia in the book. The
post assessments required the students to use onomatopoeia in their writing at least
one time. 100% of the class wrote stories, 16% or the students did not use
onomatopoeia at all, 20% or the students used more than one example of
onomatopoeia and 64% of the students used at least on example of onomatopoeia.
B) Individual Students

a. The high student participated in all activities. The student in the pre assessment
answered question number three correctly. That was the only question that the student
was called on to answer. The student had no idea what onomatopoeia was, but did raise
hand for all the other questions. In the during assessment, the student was able to
recognize all examples of onomatopoeia in the book. Student was 100% correct every
time their hand was raised. The post assessment the student used onomatopoeia
throughout their entire writing, allowing me to see that the student did in fact
understand the concept of onomatopoeia in writing.
b. The middle student participated in all activities. In the pre assessment the student
answered question number two correctly. That was the only questions that they student
raised their hand on to answer the question. This help me come up with the idea, that
the student was not familiar with the other questions. In the during assessment, the
student was able to recognize all example of onomatopoeia in the book during the
reading. Student was 100% correct every time their hand was raised. The post
assessment, the student used one example of onomatopoeia in their story, allowing me
to see that there was some understanding of onomatopoeia in writing.
c. The low student did not participate 100% in all activities. The student in the pre
assessment answered question number two correctly. The student raised their had to
answer question number three as well, but was only called on for question two. The
student during the during assessment was able to raise their hand 100% of the time
correctly, they heard examples of onomatopoeia in the book. In the post assessment,
the student used no examples on onomatopoeia. That allowed me to see that the
concept in writing was not grasped.
C) The work below is the post assessment for the 3 students
