predict that any major location with large parking lots and structures would be in the market for
this. The growth rate will definitely be exponential as we move more into of a smartphone age and
as cost of convenience increases.
Why is your product or service innovative? Explain this by using the seven sources of innovation.
The innovation of this product is generated in response to process needs. In our current day, the
car is a necessary tool for everyday people and parking is the number one dread people have when
driving their vehicles. Through observing inconvenience in people lives, we developed this app
to solve people problems and efficiently move vehicles into spots. We can increase the efficiency
of parking lot security and enforcement by reporting parking lot conditions remotely to a server.
Value Propositions
1. Allows customers to efficiently locate parking spot vacancies thus reducing time, car circling,
congestion, and air pollution for drivers to respective Spot On structures. Visitors will be able to
know when their parking time is up or not and can refill their time through this service. Also the
application saves time of customers through an easier payment system on their phones or online.
Allow users to find their cars via GPS in parking lots to ease access to their vehicles.
2. Moreover, Spot On allows parking structure operators to systemize their parking spaces for
ease of regulation and maintenance. For example, Spot On can alert parking enforcement which
designated car may have surpassed their time limit or breached their permissions and dispatch
enforcers on a needed basis. Spot On will alert the security when a car is parked inappropriately.
This is a huge contrast compared to now, in which parking enforcers check each spot individually.
This would also be a huge benefit for parking structure authority because they will be able to
manage fines and be paid systematically and instantly rather than risking a worker having to
check everything first hand and potentially missing multiple citations. By doing so, this would
allow adopted structures to maintain their daily operations in a much more efficient and costly
manner.
Channels
1. The app is distributed through smartphone enabled devices directly to users for instant function.
Users can find this application on both the Android and Apple app stores. Non-smartphone drivers
may also access our service through our website online.
2. Moreover, we will make contracts with parking structures that will require installation of
software and replication of parking structure design layout in order to deploy the application.
Customer Relationships
Online chat resource for users to communicate with a representative parking enforcer or
professional when users need to troubleshoot application.
We have a point system that allows users to notify the application when theyre leaving a parking
spot to help transition run more smoothly. With these points, they can accumulate a credit in order
to make future purchases for parking payments.
Revenue Streams
Our major revenue stream would be leasing the software system and app to parking authorities.
We also conduct revenue from collecting part of the penalty from parking office.
Key Resources
In order to provide efficient service to our customers, we need an active server to broadcast
information to all users and receive real time information on users. This means the beacons, smart
chips, and smart permits are all key resources for this company We also need a team of
technicians or trained parking enforcers that can troubleshoot the system at any time. For
developing and regulating our business, we need some trusted investors to support our financials.
This application will require Apple Store, Google Play Store, or any other application delivery
method to reach our users smartphone interface.
Key Activities
-Retrieve real time parking space status into a system mainframe to produce best possible parking
space outcome for registered users.
-Enforce parking regulations more efficiently and effectively by implementing real time system of
cars parked which creates a feedback loop between structure availability and users.
-Manage relationships between car owners and parking structure authority; i.e. enabling users to
purchase permits remotely, alerting users of possible fines, fees, or time depletion.
-Produce the smart chips, which are to be implemented on each parking spot.
-Install software and replicate parking structure design layout in order to deploy the application
Key Partnerships
We will need to cooperate with the parking authority of our main customer base (schools,
shopping malls, office buildings, etc.) to install the beacons and servers. Another partner is our
suppliers for Smart Permits. This application does require an extensive user base to make an
effective and popular ecosystem. We will need to promote the use of Spot On on each location in
order create user base.
Cost Structure
We need to pay the salaries for our software programmers and training for server technicians.
Moreover our variable costs include the price per chip used per car Smart permit. Also we need to
buy the devices and pay the installation cost for beacons, sensors, smart chips and the rest of the
devices required to have application to function. In order to maintain our electronic devices
installed in working status, a utility fee will be an essential part in our cost structure that we will
source from transaction fees collected.
Elevator Pitch:
Advantages over Traditional Parking Systems
What is the most annoying thing about driving?
In our current day we spend on average 5 minutes to find a parking space upon
arrival to the parking lot. In high capacity locations such as the mall or the airport
the average time may be 10 minutes. Even here at UCSD it is impossible to find a
spot quickly and conveniently without going through the parking structures. We all
know it and we all do it, search each and every floor of Pangaea for that S spot.
Sometimes we get to the end floor without any luck of ever finding a space and
find ourselves heading to the next structure to do the same thing. Introducing Spot
On the app that finds parking spaces for you so you do not have to.
