Physician Cosign Refusal - Indicates that the physician


has refused to cosign the order.
Rejected by Pharmacy - Indicates the order was rejected by the pharmacy. Check all order information before administering.

Order Details Not Complete - Indicates there are


required order details that have not been completed for
the orderable.
Nurse Review - Indicates that nurse review is required.

NOTE: Used for a data entry error only.

Plan - Indicates a plan has been ordered for the patient.

Request Pharmacy Verification - Indicates the order


needs to be verified by pharmacy before it is completed. You cannot document the results until the pharmacy has verified the order.
Renew Indicator - Soft Stop Policy - A yellow hourglass indicates that it is recommended that the order be
discontinued when the stop time is reached, but the
system will not automatically stop the order.
Renew Indicator - Hard Stop Policy - A red hourglass
with a lock signified a hard stop, meaning the order will
be stopped when its expiration time is reached. A user
must intervene to continue this order.

A SINGLE ORDER :

Open the patient chart.

Click on the orders band in the navigation menu. The Orders screen opens.

Click the blue +Add button. The order entry search window
opens.

Type MISC and select the Misc Nursing Task.

3.

Click the blue +Add button. The order entry search window opens.

Click Done to close the search window The details window


appears.

Type the name of the order and select the filter of Starts
with or Contains.

Type the verbatim task to be completed. Example: call daughter for home medication list.

Select the desired order to highlight in blue.

Click Done to close the search window . The details window displays.

Confirm order is correct and click Sign. Order displays as processing.

Click the manual refresh button. Order displays as ordered in


the status column.

Complete the order details. Mandatory fields appear in yellow. Any order that has unfinished mandatory details will be

Click the manual refresh button. Order displays as ordered


in the status column.

Type the name of the medication and select it. An order sentence box opens displaying pre-programmed doses and frequencies.

Click the order sentence most appropriate for the patient and
click OK. The sentence can be edited in the details section. The
decision support screen may display with information about
interactions and a drug reference.

Click the blue +Add button in the order screen. The order
entry search window opens.

Type Comm and select the Communication order.

3.

Click Done to close the search window The details window


appears.

4.

Free text the order by typing the verbatim communication.


Example: Patient may go off floor in wheelchair with family.

Confirm order is correct and click Sign. Order displays as


processing.

Click the manual refresh button. Order displays as ordered


in the status column.

Type the name of the PowerPlan into the Find box.

Select the appropriate PowerPlan. PowerPlans are designated by a yellow icon on the order list.

Click in the checkboxes to select the orders.

Modify the order using one of the methods below:

To override an alert click the drop down arrow next to Current


Override reason and select a reason.
To remove an order click Remove the order in lower left corner.

Click Done to close the search window.

Complete the order details. Mandatory fields appear in yellow.

Click the manual refresh button. Order displays as ordered in

IMPORTANT: For patients being admitted from the ED or
transferred between levels of care, do NOT Initiate the PowerPlan. Click Orders for Signature and Sign only.
