Katherine Rojas

I am Katherine Rojas, and I am

part of the School Counseling
Team at Escuela Unida. I am
originally from Columbia, South
America, and I have lived in
Virginia for 8 years. I have
worked with children of all ages in the school settings as well as in mental health settings. I have a
BA in Psychology and a M.Ed. in School Counseling
from George Mason University. I love spending
time with my family, and also traveling.

Ghil Hong

I am grateful to be a part of
the Escuela Unida school counseling team after having worked
for the film/television and
digital media industry for nearly 15 years. In life,
we cross bridges to get from one side of a river
to the the other. One of my life-long goals has
always been to become that bridge for every
child; to empower them to safely and confidently
cross over and be one step closer to realizing
their dreams. Here at Escuela Unida, we have a
wonderful team that will work tirelessly to make
that happen for your child.

Upper Elementary (3-5)

Melissa Lara

Hi, my name is Melissa Lara, and

I am currently a school counselor for Escuela Unida. I was
born in Los Angeles, California,
but I was raised in Arlington,
VA. I have worked with kids for
about 9 years. I have a BA in
Psychology and a M.Ed in School
Counseling from George Mason
University. One of my biggest
dreams is to one day move back to California and
give back to my community. I am a family-oriented person and this move will allow me to be close
to my family. During my free time, I love running
and going on long walks. These are two self-care

Texas and miss my home and family. Some of my
hobbies are cooking, baking, reading, and spending
