Activity Plan Format
(Must select at least 4 activities from each of the Developmental
Domains: Physical, Social, Emotional and Cognitive)
1. Activity title: How Are You Feeling Today?
2. Curriculum area/Developmental Domain: Social/Emotional
3. Number of Children/Age and number of adults: 19, 3-5, 1 teacher
4, Materials needed: None.
5. Location and setup of activity: Block area, large group
6. Preparation: None
7. Specific behavioral objective: Children will identify and name how they are
feeling in the present moment.
8. Procedure (step by step): During large group, after morning song, the teacher
will ask each child in the group how do they feel at the moment. She will cue
children with some basic emotions such as happy, sad, angry, surprised, or bored.
9. Discussion (key concepts, facts, skills, vocabulary, etc.): How are you feeling
right now, happy, sad, bored, angry, or surprised?
10. Terminating statement (how will you summarize the activity with the
children): The teacher will state that she is happy to hear that everyone is
doing great.
11. Cleanup: No clean up.
12. Transition (How will you transition children from this activity to another?):
The teacher will sing “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep".
13. _ Evaluation (Were your objectives met?): All 19 children were able to name
and identify their emotion.
