PREFACE TO THE REVISED EDITION

SBIICM is bringing out the Core Banking User manual for the benefit of the
operating staff at the Branches and other operating Units. The manual has
been well received and found useful by them in their day-to-day operations.
2. In view of the changes in the CBS software and different promotions
launched in Core Banking in the past, there was a need to update the manual.
The present edition of the manual now being released has been thoroughly
revised and updated up to 31st Dec 2009. The manual has been vetted by the
Core Banking Department at Global IT Centre and we hope it would be of
great help to the users at all branches, Learning Centres and various other
operating units.
3. Users are requested to provide their valuable feed back and suggestions to
the email address sbiicm@sbi.co.in with the subject-line as CBS User
Manual, for future incorporation and addition.
4. We are thankful to CGM(IT), Global IT Centre, Mumbai for his support
and the various officials engaged in CBS for vetting the manual. I place on
record my appreciation to the faculty members and system officials of
SBIICM who have taken great pains and keen interest in updating the
manual.
