z Properties
1. 1.2316(ESR) has high degree of uniformity, purity and cleanliness through
ESR(Electro Slag Re-Melted) process.
2. Pre-Hardened Condition of 1.2316(ESR) Steel has been quenched and
tempered before shipped in order to lower cost of customers. Customers can
save the time of heat-treatment and avoid quenching-crack.
3. The homogenization of hardness.
4. Good polishability, toughness, and wear-resisting properties.
5. Good machinability

z Condition of Heat Treatment

Pre-Heating (a): 540~650C(1110~1560F)
Pre-Heating (b): 840~870C(1110~1560F)
Austenitizing Temperature: 1020~1050C(1870~1920F), in common use
1030C(1885F)
Quenching Media: Oil; salt bath at 250~550C, then cooling in air blast; or vacuum
with sufficient positive pressure.
Tempering Temperature: Decide tempering temperature according to
Quenching-Tempering-Hardness Curve for desired
hardness(tempering temperature shall be over than 180C).
