"Heat Map: Terrorism around the World (the U.S. Is among the Least Affected)." Washington Post. The
Washington Post. Web. 28 Oct. 2014.

(Heat Map: Terrorism)

The picture shows a heat map of the world where terrorist have attacked in 2011. It shows
effectively the different places around the world and the effect terrorist have on different
countries. It is also good at showing how different regions of the world have a different level of
terrorist activity.
This source is useful to my research because it helps to show where terrorism in the world is
most prevalent.

"Events of Terrorism." Web. 29 Oct. 2014.

(Events of Terrorism)
The source shows a picture of a pie chart that has the different types of terrorism from 19812001. This is a good source for me to use because terrorism is not just one type of violent
action. Most of the attacks are bombings but there quite a few other types as well. The only
problem with this source is that it is slightly out of date.
This source is still useful to me even though it is out of date. It is so useful because it shows all
the different types of terrorist attacks.

Johnston, Robert. "Worst Terrorist Strikes--worldwide." Worst Terrorist Strikes--worldwide. 31 May

2014. Web. 1 Nov. 2014.
(Johnston)

The source is a list of terrorist events that resulted in the deaths of more than 100 people.
Attached to the dates are a brief description of what happened and where it occurred. This is a
great source due to the fact that I can pull and pull events from this chart.
This source is extremely useful to me because as I previously stated there is such a wealth of
events and information.

Springer 1
"JEL - Joint Electronic Library." JEL - Joint Electronic Library. US Military Joints Chiefs of Staff, 22 Oct.
2014. Web. 1 Nov. 2014.
(JEL)
This source is of a document published by the US Military documenting their official stance on terrorism.
Within the source is a whole section on why terrorist do what they do. This includes motivation, means
and follow-through. There is also included other information about the official stance of the military and
how it goes about combating terrorism.
This source is extremely useful to me because it not only gives me good information but it gives me the
official information of the US military. The US military is one of the main proponents the US has in its
arsenal to combat terrorism worldwide.

"Terrorist Methods and Tactics." National Counter Terrorism Center. Web. 1 Nov. 2014.
(Terrorist Methods and Tactics)
The source is a page by the National Center for Counterterrorism. The page contains severl different
graphs, pictures and articles of things pertaining to terrorist and their tactics. This source also has many
other different things on it such as ways terrorists attack and the way that they get money.
This source is useful to me because It has a plethora of great graphs and pictures that I can add to my
PowerPoint that are very interesting and useful.
"Colombia Guerrilla Update: Two ELN Militiamen Die in Clashes with Army in Arauca (Arauca)," OSC
Summary, December 23, 2013."
(Columbia Guerilla Update)
The source is form a terrorist national database. Within it contained details of an attack that occurred in
Columbia. The details given included things like who, what, when, where and why. It contained several
details about what actually happened. The actual attack that occurred was the detonation of a bomb
that took down a power tower. This tower then resulted in a loss of power for several people in a local
village.
This source is useful to me because I can look up several types of terrorist attacks and plots. The search
tool also has an amazing filter that lets you search for almost anything.
Kaplan, Eben. "Tracking Down Terrorist Financing." Apr 2006. Council on Foreign Relations. Nov 2014.
(Tracking Down Terrorist Financing)
The source above is an article about the financing of terrorist. It includes everything from where they
get their sources to what they spend their money on. Not surprising was the fact that most of the
money for terrorism came from the illicit drug trade and front companies.
This source is useful to me because it is a well-known source and also provides a few different angles
when looking at the idea of funding terrorism.

Springer 1
Aufhauser, David. "The Threat of Terrorist Financing." Http://www.au.af.mil. 26 June 2006. Web. 2 Nov.
2014.
(Aufhauser)

The source is another article of about the funding of terrorist and their uses of that money. It
also talks briefly about the tasks forces that the USA has to combat the funding of terrorism. It
also talks about some of their successes and failures.
This source is useful but most likely will not get used because of the pure amount of data and
lack of simple language that would best transition into my PowerPoint.
"Foundational Awareness of Weapons of Mass Destruction/Terrorism (AWR-190-W)." Foundational
Awareness of Weapons of Mass Destruction/Terrorism. Web. 2 Nov. 2014.
(Foundational Awareness)
The source above is all about teaching people about terrorist uses for Weapons of Mass Destruction. It is
important because it entails things about WMDs and ways terrorist use them in the modern era.
This source is not useful to me because it doesnt have enough information in it to be pertinent.
"Dolan | The Bush Doctrine and U.S. Interventionism." Dolan | The Bush Doctrine and U.S.
Interventionism. Web. 2 Nov. 2014.
(Dolan)
This source is all about how the Bush administration set up a doctrine to combat terrorism and the
spread of it. It details many things including certain things like how to combat terrorist abroad and at
home.
This source is useful because it entails certain things about what the U.S. was going to do not just what
they should do.
