6. A three phase star connected, 400V, 50Hz, 4 pole, induction motor has following equivalent circuit
parameters referred to stator in ohms per phase:
R1=0.8, R2=0.3, X1=X2=2, Xm=48
An external resistance of 2 per phase referred to stator has been inserted in the rotor circuit in
order to brake the motor at 1440 rpm by means of dc rheostatic braking. Determine the initial
braking torque.
