#1. Description
1.) The artists name is Kenia Cano
2.) The title of her piece is Plesi.
3.) The date that this artwork was created was October 24, 2014.
4.) The mediums/materials used for this painting are acrylic paint, oil pastels, graphite pencils,
paintbrushes, her finger, a plastic paint pallet, water, and a painting canvas.

5.) In this picture I see what appears to be a green dinosaur, with a very long green neck, sitting in a
body of water. I also notice that on the dinosaurs back is a palm tree or an island. And in the
background I see a mountain.

6.) This painting is a mountainous scene with a dinosaur.

7.) This picture is on a portrait shaped canvas.

#2 Analysis
1.) In the foreground is body of water with part of an animals green body swimming in the water. In the
midground is part of the animals neck and its head. It also looks like theres a tree trunk too. In the
background is a blue sky and a mountain.

2.) The page has been arranged by a green dinosaur with a very long neck sitting in a body of water,
carrying a tree or an island on its back. And in the background is the sky and a mountain.

3.) Theyre shades of blue, green, orange, and black. The blues are mostly in the foreground and

background, the greens are mainly in the midground, the oranges are mostly in the midground, and
the black is in the background.

4.) Theyre rectangles as the ocean, triangles as leaves on the tree, cylinders as the tree trunks, etc
5.) Yes there is a leading line in this picture. My eyes follow the very long neck of the dinosaur that finally
reaches its head.

6.) This painting used contrast by not using just straight lines, the different brush stokes, etc

7.) Yes; this paintings pattern is the repetition of the loops in the dinosaurs very long neck.
8.) Yes; in the foreground is a body of water with part of an animals green body swimming in the

water. In the mid-ground is part of the animals neck and his head. It also looks like theres a trunk to a
tree as well. In the background is the sky and a mountain.

#3 Interpretation
1.) The relationship to the title and the painting is, in my opinion, the dinosaurs name.
2.) I notice the long neck first.

3.) The story being told, in my opinion, is of the dinosaur Plesi.

4.) I feel intrigued when I look at the picture.

#4 Judgment
1.) I like that she gave Plesi a very long neck and put the island on its back. I dislike that there is a
sudden black square in the painting, it actually kind of confuses me.

2.) I think she was very successful in this painting and nailed the artists style in her own unique way.
