Emphasis: Is there a dominant element or focal
point that you see first?
The texture of the rhino .

Balance: Is there a special balance, or weight,
among the elements? What mood does it
create?
There is more weight on the left side because
rhinos behind and back legs is were all of the
muscle is

Proportion: Do the proportions look normal,
ideal, or unusual? Why?
proportions look somewhat normal because the
rhino has things on its body that it shouldnt
have like a horn growing on its back

The spots on the rhinos side and legs are very
repetitive

This artwork is like a self portrait of it self . Self
portrait have no to little movement

Why? What elements add variety? Why?
There are many parts to this piece , for one each
body part of the rhino was probably drawn
separately.

Is there symbolism in the artwork? What do you
think it means?
There really isnt that much symbolism because
it was just a close depictment of a rhino.

What feeling do you think the artist wanted to
give the viewer when looking at the work?
A learning experience because at the time
people did not know what rhinos looked like .

Does the work remind you of other things you
have experienced?
This work reminds me of the time I went to the
Atlanta zoo because there was only one rhino at
the zoo and in most zoos there is more than
one.

Its a lonely rhino just like most of the rhinos in
the world because the population of them is
rapidly decreasing .

success or failure?
The part of failure was the artist did not draw
the rhino as it looks .

the realism and the proportions.

work is or is not unique?
This work is unique because back when this
artwork was made they did not know what a
rhino looked like the really didnt have pictures
at the time so having a rhino look this realistic is
amazing for the time

What are some improvements you feel the artist
could have made to the work?
The artist could of added color and more than
just a rhino and some rocks .
