Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Water-stop

PVC water-stop shall be manufactured by extrusion process from

an elastomeric plastic compound, the basic resin of which is
polyvinyl chloride. The product shall be dense and homogeneous
and free from holes and other imperfections. The PVC water-stop
shall be purchased as a commercial product subject to prior
approval of the Engineer which shall generally conform to the
following:
Specific Gravity

1.33 + 0.03 at 23 C

Tensile strength

15 to 17.5 N/mm2 at 23 C
or 15 to 17.5 MPa at 23 C

Ultimate elongation

360 to 400% at 23 C

Brittleness temperature

Minus 45.5 C

Field splices for PVC water-stops shall be made by means of the

manufacturer's recommended splicing machine or by any other
approved electric heating device.
