Procedures:
Motivation:
1) So we did the letter what yesterday? The students would say K.
2) What comes after K in the alphabet that we sang this morning? They would say L
Grouping:
There will not be any groupings besides them being grouped at their work tables.
Instructional Strategies:
3) Today we are learning the letter L. Take your finger and show if you know how the
uppercase and lowercase letter is made by writing it in the air. (This is the preassessment).
4) Next we will use the Sing and Read Larry the Lion which is a book series that my
teacher has for letters.
5) Then I will read the big book of The Little Lady and introduce to students the
different words that have the letter L in them.
6) The next thing is that students will be given the worksheet for the letter L where
students will do it on their own. This is their during assessment where I will monitor
and have a yellow marker ready for the students that need it.
7) Afterwards the higher and middle students will be asked to illustrate something that
starts with the letter L. The students can try to spell the word if necessary.
8) Next the students will be called by colored table to get their white boards and come to
the carpet. This will be the post assessment where students will write the letter L
on their whiteboards. Rules will be given as needed.
9) At the end of the lesson, students will be asked to make an uppercase L with their
fingers and if they know what sound the letter L makes. Students will go back to

their work tables and will be asked to get their math journals and fill those out from
doing the calendar that morning.
Accommodations:
For my higher learners, they will illustrate something that begins with the letter L and we can try
to spell it together.
For my lower learners, I will use a yellow marker and make the letter L on their paper and show
them the movements again as they trace over the marker.
For my middle learners, they can illustrate something that begins with the letter L.
