Annotated Webliography

Technology has found its place in the classroom and is here to

stay. In order to stay current to meet the needs of the students,
instructors must continue to learn new ways to teach. The purpose of
this webliography is to provide information on different types of
technology-based tools that can be used in the classroom. There is
instructional value in WEB 2.0 technology-based tools. These webbased platforms support instruction, assessment, and collaboration.
The following webliography with annotations for four Web 2.0 or
comparable online applications. Included is each is a URL followed by a
brief explanation stating the purpose of the site including an evaluation
of the usefulness and practicality of the site as a teaching tool.
According to tech dictionary Webopeida for IT professionals and
educators retrieved at internet site, The term used to describe the
evolution of the Web as an extension of Web 2.0. This definition of Web
3.0 is the popular view held by Tim O'Reilly. In contrast, Nova Spivack
defines Web 3.0 as connective intelligence; connecting data, concepts,
applications and ultimately people. While some call the The Semantic
Web 'Web 3.0', Spivack's opinion is that The Semantic Web is just one
of several converging technologies and trends that will define Web 3.0.

The most appealing aspect of the tools that have been selected is that
they are all very accessible. An instructor can create an assignment and a
deadline as to when to complete along with allowing students to work at a
pace that is most comfortable for them. While ensuring the proper
technology needs are met in order access the materials may be a challenge,
with proper notification, students can ensure his or her computer is set up
the way it needs to be in order to complete assignment.
