Part I

Family Party

Joshs Family Party

Our tradition of having family up for the kids birthdays continued

this weekend. Joshs grandparents and cousin Allyson met us in
Midland where Kayla was competing, and then on Sunday Joshs
other grandparents, Aunt Susan, and Cousin Mea visited us for a late
lunch and birthday cake. This was the rst birthday party that weve
thrown since moving into our new house, and everybody seemed to t
in really well. Susan, Grandma Morgan, and Grandpa Morgan were

last members of the family to see the interior.
We also had the Hollidays over for the party, and once you combined
everybody together it was quite a crowd.

Getting the Pizza

Another tradition has been for the non-birthday kid to help me pick
up the pizzas for the party. This allows the child who is celebrating
the birthday to stay at home and greet guests as they arrive. Kayla
and Mea went with me to pick up ve Hot-N-Ready pizzas from LIttle
Ceasers.

Opening the Gifts

After everyone was done eating lunch, it was time for Josh to open
up his gifts. Among his gifts were a video game, clothes, a book
showing a cross section of the human body, and money.

Blowing out the Candles

The last moment from Joshs birthday came when it was time to
eat his cake, but rst he had to blow out the candles. Josh had helped
to arrange the candles, and he put three in each corner, with a few
towards the center. There were a lot of candles to blow out, but they
were extinguished after just a couple of tries. Then, everyone was able
to eat cake and ice cream.
