Midwifery Practice at the Massachusetts General Hospital

Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology Service

THE PRACTICE was established in 1994, and included three maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) physicians (high-risk obstetricians), two obstetric
and gynecology specialists and one nurse-midwife.
Today the practice boasts five MFMs, 24 obstetric and gynecology specialists and 15 CNMs.The midwives are the attending provider for
about one third of all the deliveries at MGH. It is a wonderful group of physicians, midwives and nurses practicing with mutual respect and with
a common goal to provide the best possible care for women and babies.
MGH midwives provide prenatal care at MGH main campus, and the community health centers located in Charlestown, Chelsea and Revere.
