1. Standards/Objectives: KL1A-Print upper and lower case letters
KRF.2D Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial, vowel, and final sounds in three phonemes (consonant) *Lemov Strategy -Post it: I will post my standard and the objective on the board for my students, mentor teacher and any administration know what I am teaching. This will also inform students what I expect from them and want them to learn. 2. Teaching model: direct instruction (whole group) co teaching: one teach one observe 3. Objectives: Kindergarten students will be able to write upper and lower case letters and isolate and pronounce the beginning, middle and ending sounds of a three letter word given they can recognize the alphabet with 90% accuracy. 4. Materials: White board/marker Phonics books 26 individual whiteboard 26 whiteboard markers Picture of the letter C for phonics 5. Procedures (Content Area Specific) -Have phonics books laid out on the carpet with each students name face up -Have students find their book and sit on carpet open phonics book to a new page -Draw phonics page on the board with 5 areas -Have students write letters they have already done (B,F,T, etc.) -Write a capital C and a lower C three times -Draw something that begins with a c -1) CAT-sound it out on arm and have student come up and write beginning, middle, and ending sound Repeat for the following words 2) CAB 3) SAC 4) CAN -Use box four for assessment (Sing the song cap your markers) -Call students by table to turn in their phonics book -Have students return to their seats *Used throughout the entire lesson- LEMOV strategy: Positive Framing-making interventions to correct student behavior in a positive and constructive way) Example: I like how Brooklyn is raising her hand to share her ideas. I like how Colton is sitting so nicely with his hands in his lap.

6) Modifications and Accommodations: Students that need
modifications/accommodations will sit in the front of the carpet close to me so I can pay attention to them and give one-on-one help if needed. If student does not draw letters correctly, I will guide them using my hand with theirs so they can feel the correct way to form and pronounce letters. 7) Student Assessment/Evaluation: Formative Assessment: The fourth box of their phonics page was done individually. The word provided was CAN. Students had to identify the beginning, middle and ending sound of this word as well as forming the letters correctly. After collecting the phonics books, I was able to check each students work and assess my students understanding. Summative Assessment: There is no summative assessment of this lesson. 8) Homework: There is no homework for this lesson as the objectives have been met in class.
