TEMPTATION OF CHRIST

MATTHEW 4: 1-11 & LUKE 4: 1-13

THE BEGINNING

Jesus was taken into the wilderness and left with temptation for 40 days

He did not eat during those 40 days

Tempted by the devil

TEMPTATION #1
If you are the son of God, then turn this stone to bread.

Jesus was told by the Devil that if he is who he say he is, he needs to turn
this stone into bread.

Jesus refused saying that it is written: man shall not live on bread alone

The rest of the quote in Deu 8:3 says that man lives on the word of God to
survive as well as bread.

This is saying your physical being can survive on bread but in order for you
to maintain yourself in life you need to be connected with your spiritual
being.

TEMPTATION #2

And the devil said to Him, All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for
this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

Jesus was taken to a high place where he was shown all the kingdoms of the
world.

Devil tries to tempt him by telling him that he could own all of the kingdoms if
he was to worship him. Jesus once again did not except the temptation by
saying Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the LORD your
God, and Him only you shall serve.

To keep your spiritual being you must only worship your God and your God
alone. Falling into these temptations allows you to disconnect with your spiritual
being.

Dont fall into temptation for you could lose yourself.

TEMPTATION #3

The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of
the temple. If you are the Son of God, he said, throw yourself down
from here.

Jesus was tempted by the devil once again this time to test his faith in God

Jesus responded with Jesus responded, The Scriptures also say, You must
not test the LORD your God.

You should test your faiths of beliefs for once again you can be
disconnected from your spiritual self and who you are as person.

MORAL

You should let nothing disconnect you from who you are as a person. This is
not your physical being but who you are on the inside. Losing your
character and what you believe in to fall into temptation and the crowd is
something you should not do.
