Fire Alarms and Separation

Systems

Fire alarms are capable of sensing and detecting fires depending on the atmosphere. These
systems are controlled via a control panel. In chase of fire the control panel triggers the hooters
or sounders to indicate a fire hazard. With some fire alarms there is an automatic fire
separation system attached in order to control or put out the fire to save the personnel or the
equipment.
The smoke detectors are a major part of fire alarm systems which are able to trigger the control
panel in chase of fire or smoke. Detectors are actually input devices which are operated
according there parameters with respect to their atmosphere. The detectors are available
parameters depending on the atmosphere such as smoke, heat or the flame detectors.
These systems are also human friendly because sometimes the fire is not in the range of
detectors, therefore manual call points are installed. The manual call points are human
operated input devices which may be pressed in case of fire before it is too late for the rest of
the system to detect.
When the fire is detected the input devices in the system triggers the control panel. The control
panel operates the sounder or bells in order to indicate the fire, some of the systems are
connected with fire hydrants via solenoid valves or relays which would start water flow or other
fire separation material in order to put out the fire.
