Croatian Foundation Network (CFN) established to increase knowledge on philanthropy/


recognize role of foundations in Croatia.
Mission: Actively promote development of philanthropy and role of foundations based on
values of civil society.
Main activities: public panel discussions, dissemination of information about philanthropy, lobby
for better positioning of foundations in Croatia.

Croatian Foundations Forum brought together 30 foundation representatives (5-6 Sept. 2013) to
review major developments in the sector with a special focus on Europe.
Zoran Piuljan= Deputy Minister of Public Administration
Emmanuelle Faure= EU Affairs Senior Officer at the EFC
European Foundation Statue- currently under discussion. Would help foundations in developing
cross-border activities, partnership, channeling diaspora funding. Pending approval of the 28 EU
member states.
Croatian Foundations Forum convened by the National Foundation for Civil Society
Development.

Optional simple tool to help foundations better channel resources into improving lives of
European citizens in wide range of areas.
European Commission presented a proposal on the European Foundation Statue on February 9,
2012. Ongoing review by the Council of the Ministers of the EU, endorsed by European
Parliament, European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
