Tsunamis create a lot of changes. Almost all of them are bad,

and I'm gonna talk about the bad ones in the Japan tsunami. First
of all, people estimated all destroyed things would sum more than
155 billion dollars. Second of all, they also estimated it will take
10 years to recover all destroyed or broken objects. Also, when
the tsunami came, there were like 700,000 people in shelters that
took it by surprise. People say that 127,290 buildings were totally
collapsed, while 272,788 buildings were half collapsed. People
also confirmed there were 15,889 deaths, 6,152 people injured,
and 2,601 people missing. Finally, people say that there were
minimum 3 nuclear explosions.

There was a woman named

Sonali Deraniyagala. She lost her
whole family in a tsunami that took
place place by the coast of India, on
December 2004. There were
thousands of deaths, but she
survived. One day, she was on
boxing classes, and she noticed the
water was going back. But she didn't
know that a tsunami could come if
that happened, she didn't even know
what tsunami meant. Until she
noticed there was a wave coming.
After the wave, everything was wet,
and she lost her whole family.

Connections Costa Verde Field

In the Costa Verde Field Trip,

there were a lot of connections. One
of them was that people put rocks like
a ramp so if a tsunami came, it would
slow down. Another one is that there
was a fault, so that tells there was an
earthquake, and maybe that
earthquake caused a tsunami. Also,
maybe there was a tsunami because
all the rocks are rounded because
erosion. Finally, there were dead
crabs all over the rocks and that could
meant that long ago there was a
tsunami and moved the rocks on the

How are earthquakes like tsunamis? Vicente

Earthquakes and tsunamis have many things alike,
like both are natural disasters.They are both caused
by plates .They are both making changes in the earth
crust.They both kill people and make them
homeless.They both can have after shocks lowers
than them or even bigger!They both destroy villages
and It's very not possible that they can know
predicting that there is going to be an earthquake or a
tsunami.

What inside the earth causes tsunamis? Vicente

Many things inside the earth can create tsunamis. First of all, an
earthquake happens. It is in the water, it creates two big waves that are called
tsunamis. Volcanoes can make tsunamis too. The force of the Volcano create
a big waves called tsunamis.Plates slide past each other in different directions
and create an earthquake ,it creates a tsunami.The same with volcanos,the
plates move apart from each other and create a volcano. The force can create
a tsunami in the middle of the ocean that moves to land.

Field trip Costa Verde.Vicente

In the Costa Verde,
we saw that long ago there was a tsunami because there were other types of
rocks that were not normal to find here.There were rocks of a mountain next to
it.That means that long ago the water was as high as the mountain, and the
water moved the rocks to the coast of the Costa Verde.

How do you react to a tsunami?

Go to higher ground.
Do not yell and stay calm and focused.
Run as fast as you can away from the tsunami.
After a tsunami wait until emergency people instruct you
that it is safe to return home.
Stay away from flooded ground to avoid danger.

How can the earth change?

Emily

The earth can change because of a tsunami. A

lot of flooding and destruction is caused by the
high powerful waves. Tsunamis can cause a
loss of many homes, businesses and can wipe
out entire towns and communities. It can also
cause loss of many lives.

Costa Verde Trip

The Costa Verde trip was connected to

tsunamis by the ocean and a study of how
rocks and banks can be eroded over time by
the action of waves. It was very cool to see
how smooth the rocks have became over time
due to erosion.
