Designed a program evaluation focused on parent/family beliefs about: (a) importance of health and physical activity, (b)
quality of SU Physical Education Program, and (c) suggestions for program improvement.

Focus = Situational Interest during a Tactical Games Model (TGM) Ultimate Frisbee Unit
Designed and executed a five week case study that examined interest, enjoyment, and perceived competence during a
fifth grade (n=19) and a sixth grade (n=19) eight-day TGM Ultimate Frisbee unit.
Methods included pre- and post-surveys, participant interviews, participant-observer interviews, daily TGM
questionnaires, and systematic observation using the Game Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI).

Designed and executed a qualitative study that investigated situational interest motivation during an eight-day combined
fifth and sixth grade (n=21 students) TGM Water Polo unit.
Methods included pre- and post-surveys, participant focus group interviews, and daily TGM questionnaires.
Assisted in the organization and implementation of a preservice teacher experience with the Tactical Games Model with
PETE classmates and faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Springfield College.
Participated in design, data collection, analysis, and writing for a qualitative study titled: Preservice Teachers
Experiences Implementing a Tactical Games Model.

Focus = Teacher Beliefs about Effort in Physical Education
Used literature on Achievement Motivation to frame a small-scale qualitative study with four middle school physical
education teachers titled Teacher Beliefs about Student Effort in Middle School Physical Education.
Methods included 1 hour interviews with participants and document analysis of dept. policies-grading system.

Incorporated Action Research into a co-teaching experience/teacher education practicum at Keene State College to
investigate the types of communication/interactions between teacher and preservice teachers.
