I am writing this letter to recommend Hoang Nguyen for the position of Geophysicist. As a
Geography teacher at the Canadian International School Vietnam, I have known Hoang since
August, 2013. He has been a student of mine for one academic credit course of grade 9
geography. Hoang consistently demonstrated strong study habits and organizational skills by
completing all assignments on time and thoroughly reviewing material before each test. His high
test scores reflect the hard work that she has put into studying and reviewing important course
concepts. Hoang regularly scored between 85 and 95 percent on test and exam evaluations.

Hoang has also demonstrated strong critical thinking skills in the field of academic geography.
He takes time to research and review information before coming to a conclusion on a topic. In
class, Hoang demonstrated accurate and effective mapping and graphing skills. He analyzed
environmental issues related economic geography and sustainability. His culminating activities
required him to examine and propose solutions to urbanization issues, preservation of the natural
environment, and geographical factors involved in industry development and location. In each
activity, Hoang met all requirements and achieved grades over 85 percent, putting his academic
ability near the top of the class.

Hoang has demonstrated a willingness to help others in his community. He volunteered 120
hours of his time to help at a school for children suffering from vision impairments. He joined
the peer tutoring club at the Canadian International School where he helped to tutor students
struggling in academic subjects.

As demonstrated in geography class, Hoang works well in a team setting. He has proven to be
an effective leader by delegating tasks to his peers during group work. He is open and receptive
to feedback. Hoang acts professionally both in and out of the classroom. He is easily
approachable and willing to take on any new task or challenge.

It has been a privilege to teach a fine student such as Hoang. I would highly recommend Hoang
as a geophysicist. I am certain that the next endeavour Hoang takes on will be a success.
