This is an educational group project for our NURS 2701 Class. This paper will present an outline of this project which will be taking place today at Millcreek High School. We have been assigned to the topic of Development of children from 12 months to 24 months. The following will be our learning objectives: Information on toddlerhood ages 12-24 months will be provide to the Millcreek High School students at a fun, interactive and age appropriate level. Student audience will be evaluated on basic knowledge of children ages 12-24 months by way of playing a bingo game and asking questions. Student audience will demonstrate understanding of the concepts taught in the presentation by way of verbalization. Students will validate the information presented to them by sharing stories or verbalizing agreement on the concepts of health, nutrition, safety, and behavior of a toddler. The overall presentation will be an enriching opportunity for both the presenters and the student audience upon sharing information, experiences and clarifying concepts regarding the toddlerhood age. Our presentation will take place at Millcreek High School. Or material on toddlerhood 12-24 months will be presented in an interactive and practical way to facilitate participation of the High School student audience. Our goal is to engage the students a this High School to participate and demonstrate understanding of the material presented. Some of these students may already be parents to a toddler- age child; however, additional information and support is always helpful and beneficial to a young parent while raising a child. We will begin the presentation with a short introduction of ourselves and a bingo game. The bingo game will provide an opportunity to evaluate the students knowledge about some of the aspects of the toddlerhood stage. A brief overview of child development according to the theories of Erikson, Piaget, and Freud will be presented by way of Power point slides. Following the theorists, a general overview of social, emotional, physical and cognitive development will be covered by way of power point. This information will be re-enforced with interactive videos that will be shown throughout the slides. Following the previous information, milestones of development will be addressed. The presentation will cover the periods of twelve months, 18 months, and 24 months. These slides will further provide information about the healthy normal development of children at each one of these periods. Practical tips and information will be given to recognize the delayed development of these milestones. At the end of the presentation, we will allow time for any muddy points or questions. We hope this experience to be an enriching one where both audience and presenters are edified.
