2. Materials Needed: Toy sea creatures (10) Cards with simple directions to find sea creatures
3. Procedures: a. Introduction-Show them some of the toy sea creatures that were not hidden and ask them if they know what they are. b. Main activity-The teacher will hide ten sea creatures around the room ahead of time that correspond with the simple directions written to find them. Have students draw a direction card one at a time. Assist the student in reading the direction for them to follow. Once they have found the sea creature go on to the next student. c. Closure-Ask them what their favorite sea creature was that was found. d. Transition-After the students finish cleaning up have them get their name tag and choose a center to play in.
4. Suggestions for Simplification/Extension: To simplify this activity you could put pictures on the direction cards. To extend this activity you could have more than one direction on a card.

3. Procedures: a. Introduction-Have the students form a large circle with about an arms length between each student. Read through each card and model the action for the students. b. Main activity-Start out by having the students go through all of the movement cards together. The teacher will demonstrate as the students do the actions. Then lay out the cards on the floor and have each student do the actions by referring to the cards color or the first letter of the ocean animal word on the card. For example, go to the card that is blue and do the action on it or go to the card that starts with a C and do the action on it. (The teacher will assist the students in reading the actions on the cards.) c. Closure-Ask the students which was their favorite action card to do. d. Transition-Have them get their names tags and pick a center they would like to play in.
4. Suggestions for Simplification/Extension: To simplify this activity you could give them oral directions and leave out the written ones. To extend this activity you could ask the students to make up other actions for ocean animals that werent used in the activity.

2. Materials Needed: Paint (variety of colors) Paint brushes Seashells
3. Procedures: a. Introduction-Have the students take time to explore the various seashells provided. Discuss the shapes and sizes. b. Main activity-Have each student chose a couple seashells they would like to paint on. Provide each student a paint brush and have them paint on their seashells they chose. c. Closure-Have the students share about the seashells and discuss what colors they used in painting them. d. Transition-After they have finished cleaning up have them get their name tags and pick a center.
4. Suggestions for Simplification/Extension: To simplify this activity you could have the students use stickers or gems to decorate the seashells. To extend this activity I would have them use their painted seashells to make a group collage.

2. Materials Needed: Beach ball with letters and numbers written on it
3. Procedures: a. Introduction-Ask students to form a large circle, giving each other an arms length of space. The teachers will model throwing the ball to each other and identify the letter/number their right hand lands on. b. Main activity-Have students take turns throwing the ball to one another. Make sure they call out the name of the person they will be throwing it to so they will be ready. Once the student has caught the ball have them identify the number/letter their right hand lands on or whichever one is closest to it. Make sure everyone gets a turn in the circle. c. Closure-Ask the students if it was hard for them to catch the ball. d. Transition-Have students get their name tags and choose a center.
