What advice would you give Otis management concerning future directions?

Some of the future applications as mentioned for Otis elevator are:


1. Remote Elevator Monitoring(REM)
2. In-car Phones
3. Replacement of service mechanic pagers with hand-held terminals
4. New Equipment ordering
5. Contract Management
6. Telemarketing of Service
Among these, REM, if installed as fast as possible could improve the customer perception a great
deal as the service offered then can be greatly improved. Also, to keep bring back many of the
clients whose contract for service has been expired, Telemarketing of Services must also be
implemented faster. To improve the response time, the replacement should also be done
quickly, as ultimately, everything comes down to service carried out by the mechanics. Adding
on to that, it would be important to employ some method to track the location of a service
mechanic.
As, OTISLINE is only there in 11 out of 47 NAO districts, though they may be the busiest of the
cities, it is imperative to provide OTISLINE to the other cities as it will improve the service
reliability in these cities and ultimately improve the customer base. OTISLINE should also cross
border across to Latin America, Pacific and Europe for it to emerge as a global player in the near
future.
