The Journey of the Scrooge
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is an entertaining story about how a selfish man
changes into a nice, generous man. Ebenezer Scrooge changed from a greedy, cranky man to a
charitable, nice man because of three spirits. The spirit of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to
Come all helped Scrooge. Further more, the Spirit of Christmas Past showed what Scrooge did
wrong before it came.
The first spirit to visit Scrooge was the Spirit of Christmas Past who showed Scrooge all
about his Christmases in the past. First, Scrooge went to his old boss Christmas party and all of
the workers were happy. Fezziwig, his old boss also did not spend much money on it. This
taught Scrooge to treat his employee, Cratchit better. Next, Sweetheart, Scrooges love broke
up with him since she was poor and all Scrooge cared about was money instead of love. The
now regrets it. This not only taught Scrooge to think about big decisions, but also that money
can not do everything. Finally, Scrooges business partner Jacob Marley died and Scrooge took
over the business without asking Jacobs family first. This inspired Scrooge to not be so selfish.
In addition to the Spirit of Christmas Past, the Spirit of Christmas Present also showed Scrooge
what he has been doing wrong.

The Spirit of Christmas Present showed Scrooge everything that was currently
happening with him.. First at Bob Cratchits house, Mrs. Cratchit gave a toast to Bob Cratchit in
honor of Scrooge even though she dos not like him. She did not like how Bob Cratchit was bring
treated such as his pay. This made Scrooge want to treat others better. Next, Mr. Cratchits son,
Tiny Tim was crippled and would not live much longer. This inspired Scrooge to be a more
charitable man and pay Bob Cratchit more so he can take care of Tiny Tim. Finally, Scrooge saw
two beggar children that represented poorness, hunger, and ignorance. This influenced Scrooge
to appreciate what he has more. The Spirit of Christmas Present helped Scrooge in many ways
just like how the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come had.
The Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come showed Scrooge everything bound to happen to him
in the future. First, Scrooge died so charwoman, cook, and porter robbed him. They learned this
selfish attitude from Scrooge. This made Scrooge realize he should treat others better and with
more respect. Nesxt, Bob Cratchits sick son, Tiny Tim died. If Mr. Cratchit had a more money he
would have been able to save him by giving him more medical care. This gave Scrooge an
inspiration to pay Cratchit more and even to be more charitable. Finally, Fred was possible
going to offer Peter, Cratchits other son a job. However; Scrooge did not offer Peter a chance
at getting a job. This inspired Scrooge to be more giving and generous. Obviously, the Spirit of
Christmas Past, the Spirit of Christmas Present, and even the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come
made Scrooge want to be a better person.

person from learning upon his past. All in all, the Spirit of Christmas Present presented Scrooge
how he could improve by showing him what terrible things were currently happening because
of and to him. Hence, the Spirit of Christmas Yet to come showed Scrooge to be more
charitable and respectful. Because of these three spirits Scrooge hanged from a selfish man to a
nice, generous man.
