Judge James Geraghty dismissed an ethics complaint accusing Councilman Ravinder Bhalla of wrongfully voting on a legal contract involving an attorney with whom he shared an office. Geraghty found that Bhalla didn't have a personal or financial relationship with the attorney and that the charges against him were "frivolous and unwarranted." He also noted that the person who filed the complaint, Hoboken resident and former housing authority commissioner Peter Belfiore, is a "relentless political antagonist" of Bhalla and has a history of making "malicious, bigoted personal attacks" against the councilman.
