Rationale
This double period was designed due to the fact that I, the teacher, will be
away for the scheduled lesson. I have designed the webpage in the hope that
the students multi literacy skills are improved and they have a better
understanding of the way they can learn via the internet and digital
technology. The unit we are currently studying is Partying and therefore it
was an easy choice for me to choose alcohol and drugs as the topic of the
lesson. It is directly from the syllabus and the content is easily researchable for
the students. It is also a topic that is relevant to the students and thus they
should be able to hold attention with the content. The actual lesson is
designed in the teach then apply style with websites and YouTube
contributing and taking the place of direct instruction from me; the children
are able to be creative in the apply stage. I hope that the website lesson is
engaging and the children are able to learn a lot in this double period.
