his is a prophetic word to the church that
says, <%)0 8=>)0%?@< It is a powerful
3erse that relates to self-deliverance. Ae ha3e
been gi3en the power and authority to lose
oursel3es from all types of bondage.

)ynonyms for the word loose include: to
disBoin, to di3orce, to separate, asunder, se3er,
unhitch, disconnect, detach, unseat, unbind,
unchain, unfetter, unloose, free, release,
liberate, brea1 up, brea1 in pieces, smash,
shatter, splinter, demolish, clea3e, force apart.
It also means to forgi3e or pardon.
<Cion< is a prophetic word and symbol for
the church. Isaiah prophesied that Cion would
be a <capti3e daughter.< 8his is so true of the
condition of the Church today. 03en though
many are sa3ed and ha3e recei3ed the
promise of the )pirit, there are still many
bondages that remain in the li3es of belie3ers.
Self-Deliverance
8he question is often as1ed of me, <Can a
person deli3er himself of demonsD<
My answer is <>es.< It is also my
con3iction that a person cannot really 1eep
himself free of demons until he is wal1ing in

this dimension of deli3erance.
How is it that a person can deliver himself?
2s a belie3er Eand that is our assumptionF, a
person has the same authority as the belie3er
who is ministering deli3erance to another. =e
has the authority in the name of /esus, and
/esus plainly promised them that belie3e: !n

Usually a person needs only to learn how
to go about self+deli3erance. 2fter a person
has e!perienced an initial deli3erance at the
hands of an e!perienced minister, he can
begin to practice self+deli3erance. E)ee ?ran1

8he good news is that we ha3e been gi3en
a prophetic promise and a command to loose
o"rselves. /esus told his disciples that
<whatsoe3er< we loosed on earth is loosed in
hea3en.

In the ensuing pages, we will e!amine the
<whatsoe3er<. In other words, whatsoever is
binding, harassing or operating in your life,
contrary to the will of ;od, can be loosed
from your life because you ha3e been gi3en
the authority to do so.
8he range of things that can bind a
belie3er is almost limitless. 8here are many
bondages we can categoriHe that need to be
e!posed and bro1en in the li3es of all
belie3ers. nce you identify the enemy, you
can then proceed to free yourself from his
clutches.
Loose Thyself From the Past
I ha3e ministered to many belie3ers who
are still bound and tied to their past. 8he past
can be a chain that 1eeps you from enBoying
the present and being successful in the future.
Ahile ministering deli3erance to a young
man, a strong spirit manifested who boasted

that he would not depart. I commanded the
spirit to identify himself, and he replied that
his name was <Past.<
8he spirit proceeded to e!plain that it was
his Bob to 1eep the young man bound to his
past so that he could not be successful in his
Christian wal1. 8he young man had been
through a di3orce, and his past continued to
haunt him.
8his encounter helped to gi3e me a
re3elation of the fact that there are numerous
spirits assigned to people to 1eep them bound
to the past that ha3e left scars and wounds
that ha3e not completely healed. Many of
these wounds ha3e been infected and ha3e
become the dwelling places of unclean spirits.
People not only need to be loosed from
demons but also from other people. Ungodly
soul ties are a3enues through which spirits of
control and manipulation utiliHe when
wor1ing upon their unwary 3ictims.

cause spirits to attach themsel3es to people
who ha3e had traumatic e!periences in their
past. ?or the purposes of clarity, we find the
word tra"ma defined by Aebster as <a
disordered psychic or beha3ioral state
resulting from mental or emotional stress or
physical inBury.<
8raumatic e!periences can open the door
for demons. 8hese can and often include
accidents. Mentioned below are two such
traumatic e!periences which greatly affect the
li3es of indi3iduals.

#ape is one of the most traumatic

e!periences a person can ha3e. It is a 3iolation
that lea3es deep scars in the psyche of the
person who was 3ictimiHed by this ungodly
act. 8he door is opened for a host of e3il
spirits to enter and operate throughout the life
of the 3ictim.
)pirits of hurt, distrust, lust, per3ersion,
anger, hatred, rage, bitterness, shame, guilt
and fear can enter and torment the person for
the rest of their life if not discerned and cast
out. 4ape can also be a curse, and there is
often a history of this sin in the bloodline.
4ape has always been in the history of
oppressed people. It was Eand isF common for
3ictors to rape the women of the 3anquished.
It is one of the most shameful and humiliating
acts that can be perpetrated upon an
oppressed people.
ften 3ictims of rape carry se!ual
bloc1ages into marriage including spirits of
frigidity, bound and bloc1ed emotions, hatred

of men, and fear of se!ual intercourse.
Indi3iduals can grow up with deep roots of
bitterness that poison the system, opening the
door for spirits of sic1ness and infirmity,
including cancer.
Incest
2nother common se!ual 3iolation is the
sin of incest. Incest can also result from a curse
and there can be a history of this sin in the
bloodline. It is an act that causes much shame
and guilt. It opens the door for all 1inds of
curses including insanity death, destruction,
confusion, per3ersion, and sic1ness. ften the
3ictim blames himself for this act e3en though
it may ha3e been the result of a seducing
spirit.

witchcraft and manipulation operate. If you
are lin1ed with the wrong people you will be
in bondage, often un1nowingly.

being deli3ered from any controlling power

person in bondage to traumatic e!periences of

8his spirit causes a person to remember
e!periences of hurt, pain and reBection.
2lthough there may be e!periences in your
life you will ne3er completely forget, you
should not be in bondage to the past through
your memory.
8he enemy should not be able to trigger
things in your memory that hinder you in

Unforgi3eness is the result of being hurt,
reBected, abandoned, disappointed, abused,

occupy the emotions causing emotional pain.

natural responses to different situations. 8he

whereby a person is unable to e!press the
proper emotions.

bloodline which is why doctors will often
chec1 to see if there is a history of certain
sic1nesses in the family. %ust, per3ersion,
witchcraft, pride, rebellion, di3orce, alcohol,

other related spirits. 4eBection is also a
door1eeper. 8his spirit opens the door for

reBection at one time or another in life. People
can be reBected because of their gender, s1in
