MICR stands for magnetic ink character recognition.
Data is written magnetic ink which can then be read using an MICR
reader.
An example for this is reading information from bank cheques as a
security and data input measure.

OMR stands for optical mark reader. A premade form is used then
marks are made on specific boxes on the form and scanned in to be
decoded into the appropriate date this may be used on a school
register.
OCR stands for optical character recognition.
A text document is scanned to an image this image is then converted
into an editable document.
This may be used to scan historic documents to preserver and edidt
them.
