Problem Statement:

In this Open-Ended problem we are trying to find a value for a, b, and c to make the
equation true.

Process Description:
The solutions I tried for this problem are A = 1 and B = 3 so 1 over 2 and 1 over 3. The
only way to make this equation true is to make the denominator the same. To make this
happen we need to first find what the lowest denominator of 2 and 3 is. So you would say the
multiples of 2 and 3. I got 6 as the lowest denominator. So then what I need to do is multiply
times 2/2 which gives me 2/6 and then multiply times 3/3 which gives me 3/6. Now there is a
common denominator. I subtract 3/6 - 2/6 to give me .This makes the equation 1/a - 1/b = 1/c
true.

Solution:
The solution of a, b, and c are 2, 3, and 6. This is true because when you subtract -
you get only after you find the common denominator.

Self-Assessment and Reflection:
I learned how to figure out how to make a equation true, by doing multiply steps to get
me to the true answer. I learned how to make the denominator the same by finding the least
common denominator. I think I should deserve a 8 out of 10 because I showed my work in how
to get to the answer and I also wrote down the steps to getting that answer. If I had to choose a
habit of mind, I think it would be supposition because at first when I was doing the problem I
didnt understand it and did it wrong. Then, I got help and understood how to do it, and I learned
how to find the lowest common denominator. If I had not gotten help, I would be stuck on this
problem and not able to do the problem.
