Project

Objective: To learn about the Geography and People of Central and South America.
Project Requirements: Pick 1 country from Central America, 1 country from the Caribbean, AND 1
country from South America. You must create a presentation about each country. Your presentation
must include the following information;
1. Maps- 6 different maps (World, regional, political, physical, resource, climate) These may be
taken from the internet, they do not have to be original works, you must cite your sources
2. Demographic Data- please use https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-
factbook/ as your source for this information
a. Pick at least 5 different demographic topics (population, religion, birth rate,
languages, ethnicities etc.
3. Government: Type of government and current leader(s)
4. Economy: summarize in your own words what drives their economy
a. GDP- compare to USA
5. Major Cities: List and describe a few as appropriate. Include pictures!
6. Current Events: Research online for news about current major issues in each country and
summarize in YOUR OWN WORDS
7. Culture- Flags and pictures of culturally important things
How to present your project: It must be digital. Other than that it is up to you. If possible please post
your presentation to your weebly site, or at least post a link to your presentation. Here are some

2. Prezi.com like powerpoint but way better
3. Emaze.com an interactive 3d presentation maker, very easy to use
4. Powtoon.com a fun cartoon type presenter
Feel free to make your presentation any way you want to as long as it is digital. For extra credit you can
wear traditional clothing from your country when you present or make us some food!
