Poetry -Word music"
Language is an orchestra, which the poet learns to play.
It is the word-music that appeals to us in a multitude of
ways.
Poems can recreate an experience, explain, or describe,
or tell a story or event,
touch our emotions,
present a surprising topic,
make us laugh,
help us look at life in a new way,
offer an unusual or surprising or challenging point of view,
and, they can puzzle us.
Poetry is the best words placed in the best order to reveal
the poem's meaning or the poets purpose.
THE EAGLE
BY ALFRED LORD TENNYSON
He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from the mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
