1.) Technology Current Event Article: Microsoft Builds A Mobile Keyboard
For iOS, Android And Windows (Wilhelm)
2.) Summary of Article:
Microsoft has made a Universal Mobile Keyboard for iOS,
Android, and Windows. The keyboard is hardware and will be
available to buy in October for the price of $79.95. The
keyboard is Bluetooth capable and can pair with three
devices. It has a tool users can use to quickly switch between
operating systems. The keyboard also has a home key that
works across device class. The reason for Microsoft building
the keyboard is for a goal of selling office across every
operation system and platform.
3.) Two additional Internet Articles:
First Article- Microsoft creates a keyboard for iOS and Android
tablets (Warren)
Search Engine Used: Bing
Second Article- Microsoft creates iOS and Android keyboard,
takes xbox controller to PC (14ww)
Search Engine Used: Yahoo
Compare:
The Bing search had more similar results to the topic than
the Yahoo search. When I used Bing, at the top of the results it
showed me the same article that I had used for #1 and #2. For
the Article I had used for #1 and #2, I used the Google search
engine. My top 2 search engines would be Google and Bing
because they give you a lot of similar results.
4.) TRAAP: Chosen Article from step 3: First article
1. Time- September 16, 2014
2. Relevance- Yes, it talks about the mobile keyboard Microsoft
recently built
3. Authority- The Author is Tom Warren, he is a senior reporter
for The Verge and is a Microsoft expert. So, Id say he is
qualified to write about this topic
4. Accurate- The information he uses is accurate. His source is
from the Microsoft blog.
5. Purpose- He wrote this article to inform others about this new
technology. The material in the article is very informational,
it doesnt say you should or shouldnt buy it.
5.) Two Scholarly Journal Article:
First Article- FrogPad Mobile Keyboard ; The one-handed
FrogPad Mobile Keyboard can replace your current QWERTY

2
keyboard with only 20 keys and a 5.5- by 3.5-inch frame.
(Peterson)
Database used: ProQuest
Second Article- TECH SPOTLIGHT: TOUCH-TYPING MOBILE
KEYBOARD APPS. (PC World)
Database used: Academic Search Premier
Keywords used to search for both articles: Mobile Keyboard
6.) The Internet and Journal articles are very different. For
the Internet articles, I found the exact topic about Microsoft
building a mobile keyboard, where as, the journal articles were
only slightly similar to the topic. Finding the Internet articles
were a lot easier and quicker than the journal articles. Also, I
was able to find the most up to date Internet articles, and the
journal articles were from a few months or even a few years
ago. One of the Internet and one of the Journal articles didnt
have an author, so I would say its a mix of whether the articles
of whoever wrote them are qualified to write about the topic.
