TECHNI CAL SUPPORT FNN 100 17 I SS 26J UL1 0 EST2: Panel Normal with Active Supervisory Duct Detector Introduction This technical bulletin informs you of an issue with EST2 systems and tells you how to resolve it. Issue EST2 systems will return to the normal state when you reset the system even though active supervisory duct detectors remain on the signaling line circuit (SLC). This issue only occurs in EST2 systems using MCM(N) version 3.2 firmware and SLC version 2.4 firmware, and only in those that use smoke detectors configured as Supervisory device types (Supervisory Duct Detector check box checked). This issue does not occur with smoke detectors configured as Alarm device types (Supervisory Duct Detector check box cleared) or with addressable SuperDuct detectors tested using remote test stations. Solution If you have access to the Systems Definition Utility (SDU) with the project database, use the Signature Series Status tool (Tools > Signature Series > Status) to check the current status of each SDC card. Verify that the SDC Alarm LED on the Current Status tab is not on. If you do not have access to an SDU with the project database, after resetting the system, verify that no supervisory duct detectors are still active by visually inspecting the alarm LED indicator on the detector or on the remote test station/LED alarm LED indicator. If any are still active, reset the control panel again then verify the alarm LED indicator on the detector or on the remote test station/LED alarm LED indicator is off. FNN 10017 ISS 26JUL10 2 of 2 This issue will be corrected in the next release of the SLC firmware. We will let you know in a future technical bulletin when it is available.
