October is STEM Careers Month! October is STEM Careers Month!
Do Just One Thing Do Just One Thing
The Governor designated October STEM Careers Month.
The goal is to address the current lack of STEM skills in
students and job applicants and the lack of awareness and
understanding of career opportunities. In recognition, the
Michigan STEM Partnership is challenging Michigan
residents, particularly employers, to get involved in the
promotion of STEM in education and the workplace. We
are urging people to Do Just One Thing STEM-related in
the education system, said Dr. Barbara Bolin, Executive
Director, Michigan STEM Partnership. Employers know
what jobs they have and what skills are needed, and we
need them to help kids understand and relate STEM to the
real world. It doesnt have to be time consuming or
expensive, and its a great way to reach kids.
