2. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: My product will be/look like/involve
My product is a portable hand phone charger that can be use in motorcycles. This product will relate
to electrical circuits and motorcycles. This product will help the riders to charge their hand phone
when they ran out of battery and really needs to use the hand phone.
3. MOTIVATION/INSPIRATION OF THE PROJECT. I chose to do this project because
I choose to do this project because I observe some people that always need to contact people all the
time with mobile phones usually ran out of battery quickly, most decent people in Indonesia uses
motorcycle, so I came out with an idea that is similar to mobile phone chargers that can be use in
cars. But the difference is that the media is from the motorcycle.

4. IDENTIFY ONE AREAS OF INTERACTION. My project is focused to the
human ingenuity (Area of Interaction) because I want to think of ideas and explore more
about the needs of other people and how could I solve it. My goal is to make a handphone
charger that is modified. Like usually handphone chargers have only single type of port, but I
am going to make a charger that uses usb plug, so people can plug their usb plug in to the
charger in the motorcycle then they plug the port to their phone. This will be a universal
charger. This gadget will be different too because of the casing that will be made out of
aluminum that will help the heatsink and will make the product last longer than any other
chargers.

5. GOAL OF THE PROJECT. The goal must show the link to the areas of Interaction. The goal
of my project is to help motor bikers that uses a lot of telecommunication to not worry if
their mobile phone battery runs out when they are on their way.

6. INQUIRY QUESTION OF THE PROJECT:
How will I help some people who uses motorcycles a lot and always need a charger for his/her
phone?
7. RESEARCH QUESTION OF THE PROJECT:
1. Handphone chargers.
a. usage
b. why is it important
c. who need it

2. Types of mobile phone chargers
a. where can we charge the mobile phone
- Cars
- Home
-motorcycles
3. How to make mobile phone chargers?
a. electrical components
b. motherboard
c. media ( places to plug it, ex: at home, cars, motorcycles)
4. where to get the electrical components to make the chargers ?

8. PROJECTs OUTCOME SPECIFICATIONS AND TESTING METHOD (WHEN APPROPRIATE).
The specifications of my projects outcome is:

Target audience: mostly bikers around indonesia (uses phones and motorcycles)
Final product: mobile phone charger for motorcycles
Material : motherboard, electrical components(depend on the design), wires,
12v battery(simulator for motorbike charge).
Tools: electric solder, soldering wire, program to design motherboard.
Voltage output: same as phone batteries (5volts)
Voltage input: 12v (same as motorcycle battery)
Appendix 11. Personal Project Contract

Presentation: show them how to charge the phone battery by using 12v battery ( as a
motorbike simulator) to charge the phone.
Testing method: I will use the digital multi tester to measure the voltage of the output so it
will not go over the maximum rage of the charge.

MONTH WEEK FOCUS ACTIVITIES
AUGUST 3-5 THINK
&INVESTIGATE
MEET UP WITH SUPERVISOR AND PLAN WHAT AND
HOW I WILL MAKE MY PRODUCT. MOSTLY I WILL
STUDY ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC AND THE BASICS.
ALSO GIVE OUT SOME QUESTIONER TO PEOPLE
WHO USE MOTORCYCLES.
SEPTEMBER 1-3 INVESTIGATE
& CREATE
STILL LEARNING ABOUT ELECTRONICS, I WILL
LEARN HOW DESIGNS MY OWN MOTHER BOARD
AND WILL MAKE IT THE NEXT DAY.
4-5 CREATE ASSEMBLING THE COMPONENTS TOGETHER
OCTOBER 1-2 CREATE &
TESTING
ASSEMBLING THE REMAIN PARTS AND TEST THE
OUTPUT WITH D-MULTITESTER.
3-4 TESTING TRYING TO CHARGE THE PHONE WHEN U CAN SEE
THAT THE CURRENT FROM THE OUTPUT IS STABLE.

November 1-2 RETESTING AFTER RETESTING TO CHARGE ANOTHER PHONE,
AND NO FAILURE HAPPEN, START TO PUT ON THE
CASING AND PROTECTIVE CABLES TO FINALIZE THE
WORK.
DESEMBER 1-4 EVALUATE EVALUATE THE PRODUCT IF ITS GOOD OR NOT,
EITHER ITS NEED BY OTHER PEOPLE. THEN TRY TO
TEST RUN THE PRODUCT BY USING THE REAL
MOTORCYLE AND SIMULATES THE REAL
TRAVELLING WHILE CHARGING THE PHONE.
January 1-4 CREATING JUST INCASE IF THE PRODUCT FAIL THE TEST RUN
ON DECEMBER, YOU NEED TO REMAKE THE
SECOND PROTOTYPE WITH HIGHER QUALITY
TOLERANCE.
FEBRUARY 1 EVALUATE EVALUATE BOTH OF THE PRODUCT THAT HAS BEEN
MADE AND MAKE SURE THE PRODUCT HAS A HIGH
QUALITY.
2 Upgrading pp DO ALL OF THE REPORTS THAT IS NEEDED LIKE
PROCESS JOURNAL, GIVE OUT ALL OF THE
EVIDENCE, PROCESS JOURNAL TO PP SUPERVISOR.
3 SUBBMISION SUBMIT ALL OF THE WRITTEN WORK AND ALL OF
THE PP STUFF.
