The Career Academy Internship Program is an opportunity seniors who are dedicated in their career planning and

education to gain structured, first hand experience in a particular career or career field for a semester or year long
internship. Students work with professionals in the community to gain insight and practical experience in a career.
Participating in the program requires a student to work at the Internship site during a designated alternating
block period (90 minutes) during the enrolled term.

Interns are to adhere to all rules and
regulations in the CCHS Student
Handbook and of the Career Academy,
including:
CCHS Honor Policy and the
Technology Policies.
CCHS Attendance Policies.
All students must have transportation to
and from their Internship site.
No student may leave early for their
internship or be late to class from an
internship unless permission is provided
by the teacher of that class and the
Academy Director.
All students must notify assigned
Academy Director and Intern Sponsor
(in person, text message, phone
message or email) if missing internship
and the reason for the absence. This is
to be documented by the intern in their
Weekly Journal Blog and Time Log.
Internship is a class therefore strict
adherence to the attendance policy is
monitored. Excused absences are to be
verified as if you are absent from
English, math, social studies, etc.
If a student does not attend their
internship and remains at school they
are to report to the Academy Director.
Failure to attend their internship without
proper notification of absence is
considered truancy and disciplinary
action will be taken and No credit for
Weekly Time Log and Journal Blog
grade as well as possible failure.
Misrepresentation of status and
falsifying documents will result in failure.
Students with absences will be given the
opportunity to complete special
assignments provided by Intern
Sponsor and/or Academy Director.
Mandatory in-class meetings are listed
on the Internship schedule sheet. Sheet
are distributed in class, emailed to
students, shared on the schools Google
account and on the Career Academy
Google account. Attendance will be
taken.
Compliance with the CCHS and the
students internship sponsors
organizational policies and regulations.
Such compliance would include but not
be limited to: punctuality, adherence to
the dress code, timely notification
provided to work supervisor in case of
absence.
Requirements and Procedures
Required Assignments
Grades are received for each
assignment completed correctly,
turned in before or on the due date.
Once a year/semester
All pre-intern forms including the
application packet forms must be
turned in before students are
allowed to intern.

Once a grading period
Learning Plan Form. The intern
and sponsor complete this together
at the beginning of each grading
period. Points are deducted if turned
in after the deadline.

turned the first day of the school
